Clay is earth - made workable by water, prepared with air, and finished in fire. It is elemental. As one of the earliest art forms of human civilization, it connects us to our shared past.
Summer Strutt has been studying ceramics since 2015. She first started at San Diego Mesa College, studying under Brian Benfer and later studying Clay and Glaze Tech under John Chwekun.
After joining Get Centered Clay Studio in 2019, she branched out into more sculptural and representational work. In 2022 she began teaching classes at Get Centered and workshops at East County Art Gallery.
Date Night Classes - Get Centered
Date Night is a private, two-person class. Taught by Summer, it will introduce you to the basics of wheel-thrown pottery, or can be used to hone specific skills. Open to seasoned potters and those who have never touched a pottery wheel alike.
